The Person County Board of Education is seeking feedback regarding the 2024-2025 school calendar. PCS staff is presenting three options for the 2024-2025 calendar—one with an early start date and two with the traditional start date. Please review all calendars (linked in the survey) and provide feedback through the survey linked below. Due to the possibility of patchy ice on the roads and extremely cold temperatures/wind chills for bus riders, PCS will operate on a 2-hour delay for staff and students tomorrow, 01/17. Breakfast will not be served and daycares will open at 8 am. Please be careful and stay safe.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr Day! No School on January 15th

Due to power outages and trees down in spots across the county, Person County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for students on Wednesday 01/10. This will allow time for power restoration, debris to be cleaned up, and buses to run during daylight hours. Please travel safe.

Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day! Thank you to our local law enforcement for all they do to keep our students and communities safe!

Due to the potential of severe weather conditions for tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday 01/09), Person County Schools will be closing at 12:15 pm. PCC students should check Blackboard for assignments. Stay safe!

Good evening Raider Families, It is hard to believe that we are entering our last week before winter break. We have several fun activities planned for our students. The first is on Monday. The Night of the Arts is a celebration of our arts department. We will kick the night off at 5:00 pm with Martin’s Concessions. So come out and get some supper before enjoying a gallery walk of our students’ art projects. We will also have a presentation of our 8th-grade mural project before ending the night with a band concert. We also kick off Spirit Week on Monday with Merry Monday. Students can wear red and green! You can view the rest of the days in our newsletter. We also have a Boys and Girls basketball home game starting at 4:45 pm vs. Standback on Tuesday and a home wrestling match on Wednesday against Gravely Hill. This is a reminder that Friday, December 15th is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 pm. Also, 8th graders need to continue to turn in their field trip forms and money for the field trip. The total field trip cost is $100. Good afternoon Raider Families! We are so excited that many of you are planning to attend the fall festival. This is a reminder that students can not stay after school and wait to attend the fall festival. They will have to come back and be accompanied by an adult. The festival begins at 4:30 and ends at 7:00 p.m. Thank you for the enthusiasm and excitement and we look forward to seeing you tonight!

Good evening Raider Families! This is a reminder that our Fall Festival is tomorrow, Thursday, November 2nd starting at 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. We will have Drizzle D's, Carter's 5, and Soulful Peartree food trucks on site! Come out and enjoy a hayride, obstacle course, face painting, and other fun activities! There is no entry fee. Tickets are $1 each with most activities costing 2-4 tickets. We hope to see you at our Fall Festival!
