CFC - Community For Children

South Elementary community for children

South Elementary Community for Children (CFC) functions much like a PTA. South CFC was formed by parents, staff, and community members interested in serving our South family.  What makes the CFC different from a typical PTA is that we are a 501c3 non-profit organization. 100% of our money goes towards the students and staff at South! We do not pay national dues like PTA organizations. The other benefit of being a non-profit is the ability to have community members join our organization.  We realize how valuable community support is for our school and delight in the opportunity to have them join our team! This means that parents, grandparents, school staff, local business owners, and other community members can join! The CFC works closely with the administration to support South in various ways.

Here are some examples of ways we have supported South Elementary in the past:

  • providing staff meals

  • buying school spirit hoodies for the entire school

  • snacks for DOJO parties

  • materials for Fri-Yay clubs

  • teacher wish-list supplies

  • teacher snack cart

  • volunteering at the book fair and donating to ensure each child was able to buy a book

  • funding Hispanic heritage performers for the Hispanic Heritage celebration

  • donating field day supplies

  • adopting families through Santa’s Helpers

Yearly dues are only $12 and cover the whole family to help contribute to projects like those listed above! If you are interested in being a part of our organization, email us at southelementarycfc@gmail.com.  Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
