Good Evening-
We wanted to make sure everyone remembers that tomorrow is the final day for the Book Fair. It will be open from 7:45-noon tomorrow.
We also want to make sure everyone knows our PTSO has kicked off its annual fundraiser. See below for more information:
The Stories Creek Elementary fundraiser has started and we need your help. Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 for essential programs not currently funded through traditional means.
It's as simple as 1, 2, 3!
Register NOW at www.ShopFund.com
Share custom support links with family & friends via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Email, Text and more.
Student Goal: Minimum of 5 Online Supporters.
The fundraiser runs through Wednesday, October 23rd. Packets are coming home today with your student(s). The online shopping feature is incredibly convenient, and enables friends and family outside of our area to support our school. They can choose to have their orders shipped directly to them! There is also a donation option for those who want to show their support without ordering items.
On behalf of the staff at Stories Creek Elementary, and our PTSO who is sponsoring the fundraiser, we thank you for doing your part to make our fall fundraiser a success!
REGISTER-SHARE-WIN: Sharing gets you coins for chances to win over $100,000 in instant prizes.

PCS is partnering with the Person County Emergency Services in collecting new stuffed animals and new or gently used books to be delivered to children in counties to our west affected by Hurricane Helene.
Donations will be accepted at all schools through Wednesday 10/09.
Additionally, we will be posting upcoming donation events around Roxboro that will be taking place in the next few days. These events will be posted on the PCS Facebook page and website.
Thank you for your support of students in our western counties.

Due to possible hazardous weather and road conditions that may arise due to the approaching hurricane, tomorrow, Friday, September 27th will be a Remote Learning Day for all students and staff. Students should have brought home materials and/or laptops to be able to work on assignments. Additionally, students who attend PCC will need to follow the schedules for classes as communicated.
Please also note that all school daycares will be closed and all after-school activities have been cancelled.
Stay safe and have a good weekend.
PCS Families and Staff,
This is an update to our previous message. Due to road closures because of flooding and other possible hazardous road conditions, Person County Schools will be closed for students today, Wednesday, September 25th. Staff will report on a 2-hour delay. Stay safe and have a great day.
Please see below for this week's reminders. We have added a new section geared at helping our Gator families navigate the journey of parenthood. We're all in this together!

At the PCS Board of Education Meeting this evening, the Board approved a tentative start date of Tuesday, August 27th for the 2024-2025 school year.
This date is for PCS traditional schools and does not include PECIL (start date 08/13) or students who are enrolled in PCC Courses (start date 08/15). Additionally, Directors at Earl Bradsher Preschool and Early Intervention & Family Services will let families know of their start dates.
Reminder- if you have not completed registration or enrollment with Person County Schools by the end of Friday July 26th, you will not have transportation at the beginning of the year. If you are unsure if you are on the bus list please email Ms. Solomon at solomonc@person.k12.nc.us. If you are not on the list, you will have to first complete registration (she can assist with this as well.)
When you email Ms. Solomon, please include a current phone number in case she needs to call you for assistance.
Important Info for Incoming Kindergarten Families:
-Kindergarten students will participate in staggered entry. As discussed at Open House, this means your child will attend ONE day the first week of school. You will receive a letter (to be mailed out by July 29th) letting you know which day your child is assigned to attend (Tuesday 8/13 or Wednesday 8/14 or Thursday 8/15). Students will work with all three kindergarten teachers on their staggered days. Teachers will create class rosters on Thursday afternoon.
-You are invited to attend a special Kindergarten Open House on Friday, 8/16. Two times are available- 10am and 5pm. This Open House is when you will receive your child's teacher assignment and get to meet your child's teacher. Kindergarten parents are not required to attend the 1st-5th grade Open House on Tuesday 8/6. You are welcome to attend to complete registration, learn about PTSO, and Daycare, but you are not required to do so. This same information will be available on Friday 8/16 and you will get to meet your child's teacher.
**Students assigned to our Separate Setting Exceptional Children Classrooms do not participate in staggered entry. Your child will attend each day the first full week of school and your child's teacher will provide additional information.
The deadline has been extended until June 20th. If you have not done so already, please complete returning student registration. You can email Cindy Solomon with any questions you have solomonc@person.k12.nc.us.
REMINDER: Our registration portal will close soon. We are transitioning to a new student information system. Completing registration will assist in this transition. For more, check your email or visit this link: https://www.pcsnc.org/page/returning-student-registration
