Mr. Lucas Bernard, PCC Agribusiness Technology Instructor and Mr. Devin Paylor, PCC Student Recruiter and Advisor visited the PHS CTE Agricultural Education programs to demonstrate the agricultural Drone sprayer. Educating our students on the current industry based trends in agricultural production.

North Carolina State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Mo Green visited Northern Middle School today. He was given a tour of the classrooms by Student Ambassadors and then Mr. Dusty Martin, Principal, shared NMS highlights and plans for the upcoming school year. Dr. Rodney Peterson, Superintendent, also shared comments about Person County Schools. Several other elected officials joined the afternoon tour including: Senator Graig Meyer, North Carolina State Representative Ray Jeffers, Person County Commissioner Antoinetta Royster, PCS School Board Members Freda Tillman, Harriett Tillett, Margaret Bradsher, and Jason Torian. Jeff Hauser, representing Congressman Brad Knott, was also in attendance. We thank all of you for taking the time to visit Person County Schools and we appreciate your leadership, dedication, and commitment to ensuring all students have the best educational experiences possible.

Also at the PCS Board of Education Meeting, several teachers were recognized for successfully renewing their National Board Certification. Additionally, Board Chair Freda Tillman received the NCSBA Award of Distinction and Margaret Bradsher earned the Silver Bell Award recognizing their extensive school board training completion during the 2023-2024 school year.

PCS Virtual Academy is a free, public school that is part of the Person County Schools system and follows the traditional school calendar. Any student in grades 5-11 who currently resides in Person County is eligible to apply for the upcoming school year.
