Students in GRADES 3-5 will begin taking NC CHECK INS this week.
We have a BUSY month ahead! We will welcome parents and families to three engagement activities:
1. November 9 @ 6pm--Family Literacy Night--FREE BOOKS, SNACKS, READING, and FUN. The staff will showcase their talents, skills, and favorite books.
2. November 17 @ lunchtime--Parents/families who registered to attend the FAMILY MEAL will attend lunch with their scholars. At 12:30pm, parents and families will enjoy a DRAMATIC presentation in the gym with dramatist, Donna Washington.
3. November 27 @ 3:30pm--School Improvement and Parent Advisory Meeting

November is National Native American Heritage Month!
Piedmont Electric Cooperative has awarded 12 PCS educators Bright Ideas Grants totaling $15,981.00. These grants will fund engaging classroom projects for students.
Representatives from Piedmont Electric Cooperative visited South Elementary School this morning to deliver news of winning to three educators. Pictured are Hiedi Gustin, Elizabeth Sinnott, and Kristin Hernandez. Other district awardees are Kelly Pearce (Southern Middle School), Lauren Pool and Katy Watson (Stories Creek Elementary School), Pamela Parham (PCS Virtual Academy), Kristen Clayton and Melisa Poindexter (Oak Lane Elementary School), Heather Clarke (North Elementary School), and Dory Newkirk adn Melissa White (Helena Elementary School).
